For nearly three decades, the Frankfort Community Showcase has given local businesses the chance to shine.

Now in its 34th year, the family-friendly event plans to feature more than 100 Frankfort businesses in addition to activities for children, live performances and more. The 2018 showcase
is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at the Lincoln-Way East High School Field House.

“We have everything from Home Depot and Kidswork to insurance, realtors, deck cleaning, awning, the library, the park district—and everything in between,”
said Alicia Bermes, executive director of the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce.

The event will include a “Taste of Showcase” offering guests the chance to purchase and sample from five local restaurants: Nothing Bundt Cake, Sweet Frog, Bear Down BBQ, Dancing
Marlin and Palermo's Pizza. There will also be performances and demonstrations from groups including the “On Pointe” dance troupe, the Youth String Orchestra, Down Home Guitars and the
Lincoln-Way East musical “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”

Brett Schaibley of Edward Jones, the showcase chair, said he’s most looking forward to seeing new businesses participate in the event.

“We’re giving them exposure to 1,500 to 2,000 attendees who attended last year and then growing that again this year — getting the local businesses in the community to consumers
in the area,” he said.
