Salon Agape opens, looks to ‘enhance natural beauty’
Salon Agape & Co. celebrated its opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony through the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce April 11.
The six-month-old hair salon focuses on relaxing, accessible and natural beauty experiences, according to co-owner Stephanie Galmines. She and fellow co-owner Judi Kopacz opened Salon Agape, 13 Old Frankfort Way, in October.
“The environment we want to create is classy and wonderful, but also affordable and relaxing – no hoity-toity over here,” Galmines said.
Galmines and Kopacz have 50 years of combined experience in the hair industry, she said, and are passionate about serving people in an environment where customers can unwind.
“We just love being that rock that people can come to and lean on,” Galmines said. We just want to keep giving that to people. We even have people who come in and get their hair done and call their friends to come over and chat—it’s sort of like ‘Steel Magnolias’ over here.”
Galmines said she is a “team-based company,” where all stylists are salaried and “grow each year.”
The salon specializes in color correction and repair and offers cuts, perms, extensions and other hair services, as well as skin care including facials, waxing and a firming and lifting treatment.
Salon Agape is open Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Fridays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Saturdays 9 a.m.-2p.m. Closed Sundays and Mondays. For more information, call (815) 806-7511 or visit www.facebook.com/salonagape707.
