If not come out and join us on May 17th for our monthly morning event that begins at 7:30 am for some networking and continental breakfast sponsored this month by 157-C Frankfort School District Education Foundation. Then at 8 am listen to guest speaker, Gretchen Dust from Evolve Media who will provide information you need to know about social media. After the presentation stand up and get your name and business noticed by introducing yourself to the group by providing a 30 second info commercial about your business. No pressure event! Great place to work on your public speaking skills and meet your fellow business colleagues. Keep apprised for your local resources available right in your area. Make those connections and see how your business can grow. We invite you to join us at the Frankfort Village Hall (Community Room) on May 17th. Open to the public and free to attend. Our 5th Annual Pub! Grub! Network! event sold out before it was held on Thursday, April 14th. What a spectacular night for all. Everyone enjoyed themselves mingling with each other at all three restaurants. Thank you to LWSRA – Lincoln-Way Special Recreation Association for supplying the buses to travel to and visit Enrico’s Italian Restaurant, Buffalo Wild Wings and Fat Rosie’s. All three restaurant were able to showcase their establishments by providing tasty drinks and appetizers.

American Cancer Society Relay For Life is forming teams for the June 10th - 11th, event at Lincoln-Way East High School, 201 Colorado Avenue in Frankfort. Come be a part of this inspiring experience and join us for a night of hope. Opens June 10th with a 5:30 pm Survivor dinner and opening ceremonies begins at 6:30 pm. The event closes on June 11th at 2 pm. We will walk together against cancer. The Cancer Support Center is sponsoring the Spring Walk of Hope on May 15, 2016 at Commissioner’s Park located at 22108 S. 80th Avenue in Frankfort. Registration and more walk information is online at www. cancersupportcenter.org. Walkers can also come to the center to register. The registration fee is $30 for adults (ages 15yrs and up) Child fee is $15 (ages 5-14) children under 5 are free. Registration fee will increase $5 on May 8, 2016. Our “HOPE” is that each walker will raise $100 to help us meet our program needs. The first 900 registered walkers will receive tee shirts. There will be light refreshments. Registration is at 8am. 9am is the Survivors celebration and awards and 9:30am is when the walk starts. This is a family friendly event that people will be walking to honor loved ones and to support the cancer support center. Frankfort School District 157-C Education Foundation is hosting their 4th annual golf outing on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Prestwick Country Club located at 601 Prestwick Drive in Frankfort. $155 registration fee includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, a forecaddie per foursome with a box lunch and dinner. This event will be a 4-player scramble with a shotgun start at 12:00 pm. Frankfort Park District –The month of May offers kids the opportunity to earn some extra money by participating in the KID Only garage sale on Saturday, May 14th. How about taking Mom to the Mother/Daughter Spa Day which is also held on Saturday, May 14th. Don’t forget on Saturday, June 4th the Park District is hosting the annual Frankfort Community Garage Sale from 9-3pm. Frankfort Public Library – Just in time for Mother’s Day… The Friends of the Frankfort Public Library will hold their 5th Annual Geranium and Herb Sale on Saturday, May 7th at the library, Route 30 and Pfeiffer Road. Hours: 9:00 am until the last plant is sold. These beautiful plants are all priced at $4.00 and sell out very quickly.

Kidswork Children’s Museum is gearing up for its annual gala, entitled “Lucky Number Seven.” It will be hosted by Mayor Jim and Stacy Holland. The benefit is set for May 6 at the museum, located in the Trolley Barn in historic downtown Frankfort. The night includes a silent auction, a wine raffle, and casino inspired games. Funds raised will help the museum continue to offer quality exhibits and programs to the children of Will County. Tickets are priced at $80 per person and can be purchased in advance or at the door.
