Chris is the General Manager of Herder Bros, a family owned and operated business that will be in its 100th year as he serves on the board. Herder Bros is a full service moving company and a regional freight hauler. The company traces its roots back to the Stockyards area of Chicago, hauling ice and coal. It was started by his grandfather Eugene Herder in 1920. Herder Bros is located in Frankfort and has been since 1977, serving the Will County area with distinction for over 4 decades. Once in a while an old customer will call and the crew will venture back into the city. After graduating from the College of St. Francis in 1991 Chris took over the day to day logistics from his father John. Chris works in the office, does on-site estimates and drives the semi five days a week.
In his spare time he plays in the Frankfort Brass Band as well as the Outcast Jazz Band. He serves on the Chamber's Concerts on the Green Committee and is on the boards of Frankfort Girls Softball and Operation Playground. He and his wife Kim also enjoy the various activities their 6 children are involved in. His oldest, Kara, also works for Herder Bros on the moving truck.
Chris is excited to be on the Chamber Board of Directors for his very first time.
